The Philips Lumea IPL 8000 Series BRI940/00 is an at-home Intense Pulsed Light device designed to reduce the regrowth of unwanted body hair with continued use. It features Philips SenseIQ technology, a SmartSkin sensor, five adjustable light-intensity settings and one intelligent curved body attachment. The SmartSkin sensor reads the user’s skin tone and recommends a comfortable intensity setting, while the integrated skin-contact and safety systems prevent accidental flashes. The device operates only while connected to mains power and includes an extra-long cable for easier movement during treatment. Its high-performance lamp is rated for up to 450,000 flashes. The Philips BRI940/00 uses IPL technology to emit controlled pulses of light onto the skin. The light is absorbed by pigment in the hair and helps place the hair follicle into a resting phase, gradually reducing visible regrowth when the recommended treatment schedule is followed. SenseIQ technology personalises use through the SmartSkin sensor and intelligent attachment. The sensor assesses the skin tone and suggests a suitable light-intensity setting from the five available levels. The included body attachment has a convex curved shape and a large 4.1cm² treatment window. It is designed for larger body areas such as the legs, arms and stomach. Slide-and-Flash mode supports continuous movement across larger areas, while Stamp-and-Flash mode allows individual flashes on smaller or more precise sections. The Philips Lumea mobile application can provide treatment scheduling, reminders and guidance. App availability and features depend on the user’s device, operating system and region.
