The UNITEK Y-105 features a durable brown translucent cable housing engineered for reliable serial communication and long-term professional usage. Designed as a USB-to-RS232 converter, it enables modern USB-equipped computers to communicate with legacy DB9 serial devices that require RS-232 interfaces. Powered by the widely supported Prolific PL-2303 chipset, the adapter ensures stable serial communication compatibility across industrial systems, networking hardware, telecom equipment, automation controllers, and diagnostic devices. It supports baud rates up to 1.2Mbps, enabling efficient data transmission for configuration, monitoring, and device communication tasks. The adapter uses a USB-A male connector on one end and an RS-232 DB9 male serial connector on the other, making it suitable for switches, routers, CNC machines, GPS devices, barcode scanners, medical equipment, and older enterprise hardware requiring COM port connectivity. Its plug-and-play architecture supports Windows and Linux operating systems with downloadable drivers for modern systems.
