The Sigma 56mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary is a compact portrait-oriented prime lens designed for Canon RF-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras. Its bright F1.4 maximum aperture provides strong subject separation, smooth background blur and better low-light performance, while Sigma’s RF-mount version supports high-speed autofocus, Servo AF and compatible in-camera aberration correction.
Designed for portrait, lifestyle and low-light photography, the Sigma 56mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary combines a compact body with a fast F1.4 aperture. On Canon APS-C cameras, the focal length provides a portrait-friendly field of view close to an 85mm-equivalent lens. The optical construction uses 10 elements in 6 groups, while the 9-blade rounded diaphragm helps produce smooth and attractive bokeh. The Canon RF version uses a dedicated control algorithm for responsive autofocus performance and supports Servo AF on compatible cameras. Its mount also features a rubber sealing structure for added protection during everyday shooting.
