The UNITEK Y-1105D01 features a durable transparent dark brown PVC cable construction engineered for stable long-term serial communication and industrial-grade reliability. Designed as a USB-to-RS232 converter, it bridges USB-equipped modern computers with legacy DB9 serial hardware requiring RS232 communication interfaces. Powered by the advanced Prolific PL2303 chipset, the adapter delivers stable bidirectional serial communication with support for baud rates up to 1Mbps. This makes it suitable for industrial automation, POS systems, label printers, CNC machines, ISDN adapters, modems, barcode scanners, PDAs, tax printers, and embedded serial communication devices. The cable uses a USB-A male connector on one end and an RS232 DB9 female connector on the other, enabling direct connection to standard 9-pin serial hardware without additional converters.
